From the exterior, not much has changed other than the material for the latest GMT-Master II adaptation. Obviously, exchanging Oystersteel for white gold significantly ups the weight, but the dimensions and proportions remain the same. That comes down to a diameter of 40mm and a height of 11.90mm for the case, with a bidirectional rotating bezel in white gold and black and green ceramic. So far, so good.

The dial, however, changes from lacquered gloss black to green Cerachrom, tying the exterior with the interior, as it matches the lower half of the bezel insert. For the rest, we still see applied white gold hour markers and hands with Chromalight inserts. The additional GMT hand now has a white/steel coloured stem instead of a green one, which would otherwise blend into the background.

The movement has been left untouched, as it is perfectly able to perform as it should. Running at a rate of 28,800vph, the Calibre 3285 is fitted with a Chronergy escapement and a Parachrom hairspring. It is of course COSC-certified as a chronometer, even though Rolex’s own Superlative Chronometer certifications surpasses the COSC standards. The movement has a running time of 70 hours in total.
